Absolutely. And when one looks at the size of some battles, someones only a few hundred to a few thousand on each side, a few hundred Hessian soldiers would surely have an impact on the outcome. I believe there were around 30,000 German soldiers that fought at one point or another for the British cause, and about 60,000 British, and 50,000 loyalists. The German soldiers made up a fairly large portion of troops.
