The ship that took Lafayette to America has been rebuilt and in 2015 will sail once more to the New World in commemoration of the event.

Here’s a video of her premier depart.

    Here’s the website.

Incredible. I had no idea about that. Plans are to sail up the east coast with stops including Yorktown, Mount Vernon, Philadelphia, New York, Boston, and Castine, Maine.

    Super cool video

Will you get a look at her do you think? I would think it to be a great photo/video op.

I checked the schedule. They’ll make two stops next summer in Philadelphia, one at Fort Mifflin, and then likely at Penn’s Landing (if I had to guess the location) right in Center City. If I am around I would love to check it out!

Surely will do! It would be great if they let folks tour the boat while it is docked, too 🙂

They’ve updated the site with some details/dates:

January 22nd – Miami, Florida, USA
February 18th – Tampa, Florida, USA
March 24th – Palm Beach, Florida, USA
April 12th – Naples, Florida, USA

There will be events at each of the locations, and more locations to come as it makes its way up the east coast. Should be a fun journey

The good ship arrived in American waters last month I think. Plenty of tweets of her at Yorktown. Anybody seen her yet?

I didn’t get a chance to make it out for the Philadelphia visit, though have seen a lot of great photos of it online. Often there are many smaller boats around it and makes an impressive image with them surrounding the large and historic L’Hermione. Looks like a fun journey
