I came across a site that is working to transcribe and verify service records for New York state soldiers. They are nearing the 7,000 mark (that is SO many), and this would be an invaluable resource for folks who are looking to do research on NY state soldiers or family.

    The site itself is: http://revwarny.com

They ask for a donation for access as their investment of time and resources to do that work I imagine is significant, I also talked with one of the members and they are very friendly and seem could lend a lot of research insight through the work they do – the main person there is AJ Berry.

    The main site is: http://threerivershms.com

There is also a trove of other good historical information and links for good research there, definitely worth a look.
