    All this information looks great! My known patriot ancestor serve as a Lt. in Marthas Vineyard Sea Coast Defense and he was a marine pilot by profession. He was listed “lost at sea” in 1783. Hope to discover more about him and my numerous other New England ancestors. Thanks, Marcia

    Thanks for stopping by and sharing a bit of your history! That is really incredible to have ties that direct to some important times in the country. Do you know his name by chance? I hope some other users might have some knowledge to share or sources they could point you to.
