There is a Rev War buff out there, AJ Berry, that is also an accomplished author in the genre of Revolutionary War books, newsletters, and short stories. They include historically accurate fiction, romance, and time travel stories that are surely to be interesting if you would like a different view of the time than straight facts.
The fiction being historically accurate should put a nice balance between the old and the new, and I would imaging help make getting into the story a lot more believable, while also feeding the creative side of the mind. For more information, here is the link: http://time-traveling-granny.com
