George Washington’s Epaulettes

 

These epaulettes, worn on the shoulder of the uniform and made of gold bullion thread tassels and a buff wool lining, belonged to George Washington.  Measuring .75″ x 9.5″ x 5.25″, they can be seen in 1779-1780 portraits painted of Washington.  For source and more details, click here.
